The former president was especially interested in the connection between micronutrient malnutrition and infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria. President Clinton also asked about the effects of antiretroviral therapy in children who are severely anemic.

Global Action and the Hernreich Family Foundation pledged their commitment to making safe drinking water accessible to people living in rural Tanzania.
